Swing On A Star: The Life and Times of Leonard Lauder
Collecting, preserving and sharing family histories keep families connected, not only with each other, but with generations to come.
Combining new interviews with existing home movies, family photographs, letters, diaries and other memorabilia, a legacy video provides an opportunity to document where we come from, the experiences that have shaped us and the values we hold. It is a statement, essentially, of who we are.

I'm driven by my belief that the real story of our times is told, not through the grand sweep of events we call history, but through the intimate stories we share with each other about our experiences, struggles and accomplishments.
I'm also propelled by the knowledge that we have documented our lives in unprecedented and fascinating detail - from the earliest black and white photographs to the latest high definition images.
As a writer, director, editor and archivist with more than thirty-five years of experience in the historical biography and documentary arena, I use my skills to weave this avalanche of words, artifacts and images into compelling stories.
My passion for helping others shape and share their personal narratives comes from my conviction that when we preserve – and share - our family histories, we preserve our families.
I see each client as a unique narrator who gives me the opportunity to hone the craft of visual storytelling, to fashion a portrait in motion and to capture the essence of our times.

In the early 1980's, I co-wrote, directed and edited the first documentaries to chronicle the history of rock ‘n roll – "Rock ‘ Roll: The Early Days," "British Rock: The First Wave" and the film that coined the term "rockumentary," "The Compleat Beatles."
Currently, I'm committed to creating music-driven films that reach internationl audiences and inspire change on a global scale. My latest project, "No Time For Trouble," is set against the backdrop of post-apartheid South Africa and chronicles the struggles of a poor, but popular, marching band in the remote province of Limpopo.

Pamela treats each subject, projects large or small, with the same heart, professionalism and compassion. She uses her skills as an archivist to unearth and restore overlooked photographic gems and long-forgotten home movies;her vast knowledge of and keen interest in music to create carefully crafted montages;her skills as an interviewer to capture lively narratives. Pamela is a master at transforming personal stories into compelling, entertaining films.

Pamela is an extraordinary producer/director/editor, able to craft a superb finished product from the chaos of (what was in my case) highly unorganized original material. Simply put, Pamela is a perfectionist.
- Leonard Lauder
Just finished wiping away last flood of tears...along with smiles, a racing heart and a head full of memories. The film is simply stunning. A document to cherish for the rest of my life …beautifully made with love and care.

There really are no words to describe what last night meant to me personally, let alone what it must have meant to Joan and her family. One of the most striking things about the film is the new understanding I have of Joan. I realized last night that these films are not just valuable because they document history, they are valuable because they tell us things about the person we didn't know. It's so great that generations and generations of Tisches will be able to know Joan from this film.

I wanted to just share how impressed we were by the poignant and beautiful video you created for Evelyn. Pamela, your work is exceptional and will be a meaningful and memorable part of the tribute to Evelyn's legacy as a humanitarian. We love the Saint Evelyn part!
